The Verde Valley Regional Land Use Plan was adopted  by the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors on November 20, 2006.  It has been adopted by all incorporated towns in the Verde Valley, and was approved by the Yavapai-Apache Nation.

The Verde Valley Regional Land Use Plan “Work Group” consists of various community planners and citizens that were involved in the inception of the Verde Valley Regional Land Use Plan. This group meets monthly to discuss what is going on in their respective jurisdiction and to monitor the implementation of the Plan. The Regional Land Use Plan Work Group meetings are open to the public in order to allow for continued citizen participation in regards to the implementation of the plan.

Work Group members report back to their respective jurisdiction with updates from their counterparts. Projects are brought before the group to review and discuss regional perspectives on how each one may affect the other jurisdictions, and what may be done to address community concerns. Continued information sharing and joint discussions are necessary to maintain momentum in following through on the recommendations that have been established for regional cooperation as outlined in the Verde Valley Regional Land Use Plan.
