Juvenile Court Institute (JCI)
The Juvenile Court Institute(JCI) is a free ten-week course with the intent to demystify the juvenile court system and provide a hands-on look at the battles facing our youth and the system every day. Participants gain first-hand knowledge by interacting with all of the key players in the system, participating with probation officers in the field, observing court, and witnessing what takes place in a juvenile detention center. JCI participants will receive much of the same training that court staff receives from the Administrative Office of the Courts.
JCI is open to members of the community, 18 years and older. A JCI application must be filled out with the Yavapai County Juvenile Court and candidates will participate in a criminal history search prior to acceptance into the JCI program. There are numerous volunteer activities that allow participation with the juvenile court at the completion of this program.
